About Us

The New School was founded in 1989 by its current headmaster, John Potter. It has an enrollment of approximately 150 students in grades 4-12.

The New School of Northern Virginia is dually accredited by TheSouthern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)

Colonial Math Challenge PDF Print E-mail
On October 29th, six New School students along w/ teacher, Eden, attended the 2009 Colonial Math Challenge held at George Washington University. The New School team competed against other schools in the area advancing through several rounds. It was a fun-filled math day!
